…do you remember me!?!?
hello again.
It’s been like…a year since I posted something on my blog! I am glad it still works!
I figured since lots of things are going on in my life- I’d like to post about it.
For starters, I’m getting married! David and I will be married in just 31 short days, and I can’t believe how time flies! We have a wedding blog that is updated regularly (i promise!) it’s thebestsongwedding.com. You should go check it out!
Also, David and I just got back from Honduras. We spent a week with his family. It was good for us to see his dad and spend some time with him. David’s dad has been fighting pancreatic cancer since January and we believe that he is going to be completely healed and at our wedding in 4 weeks! David did such a wonderful job taking care of his dad and you can read more about it on his blog at bluekardia.com . I’m so proud of him.
Please be in prayer for his dad.
(also, leave me a comment so I know if anyone reads this blog!) Haha! Thanks :0)
where a kid can be a kid
david and i took my little sister tori to ChuckE Cheese’s….I think David ended up having the most fun! :0)
so..it’s been a while!!!
Well…In case you were wondering, David is back from Peru! (HAHA) Sorry, it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything. We just had the most amazing summer camp EVER! God did so much in the students lives…..and now, we’re getting ready to take 26 crazy fired up students and leaders to the Los Angeles Dream Center! I can’t wait! I have to say…that I absolutely LOOOOOVE serving here at HPC! It’s the most incredible opportunity. I love every minute of it. The people are great, and God is so great. It feels like my life has been 90 to nothing….but you only live once, right! (…..i take naps as often as i can!!) :0) The more I am here- the more I see how incredible God has designed the local church to be. I can never get over how many people volunteer and serve at the church. It amazes me! Sorry this post is kinda random…if you get a chance, go to my love’s blog and check out David’s amazing Peru pictures! Hope you had a fantastic day!!
david is in PERU!!

Well, it’s official….after the many many hours of waiting in airports….the many many phone calls telling me that his flights were delayed….and the many many hours of driving to and from new orleans….David is in PERU!! If you get a chance, pray for the medical team that is there right now. For almost a week they have been reacing out to the poor, hurting, and lost people of Lima. Pray that every person they get to see would be touched by the love of God that radiates from them. Pray that healings take place, miracles happen, and souls are won into the Kingdom!!

We truly are a healing place for a hurting world!
risky business
I was watching one of those dare shows the other day, and this girl turned down $79,000 for her dream bakery to see what was in another the mystery box. She ended up walking away with $50 at the end of the show and a pat on the back for playing a “risky” game. I couldn’t believe it, “I would have taken the $79,000,” I though to myself- but the more I actually thought about it, she was $50 richer and a step ahead of me- Cause she was actually on the show! I am not a big risk-taker…never have been- and its saved me from some things, but it’s kept me from a few experiences as well…like jumping in the car with friends and heading to Pensacola on a day when we should have been at school….or doing the bungee thing at those state parks…those things just freak me out! I just don’t do risks…I’ve always been a “play it safe” kind of person…always wanting to know the outcome before I jump in- and even then it’s not a jump but a cautious step! I am challenged as I read about the disciples and how when Jesus called them, they dropped everything and just took a risk- not knowing where they were going to end up! That is huge! There they were doing their every day thing at the shore and bam- out of nowhere Jesus comes along and says, “Follow me”. And they did! I could just imagine the other fishermen’s faces as they watched the disciples drop their nets and walk away into the horizon….I am sure the other guys talked amongst themselves as the disciples walked away- wondering who this guy was that called them with such gentle force, where their friends were were going, or if they were ever to see them at the shore again. What a scene. The thing that challenges me the most from this story is that they left EVERYTHING. Not just their job, not just their family and the familiar streets of their hometown, they left it all. They didn’t try to stuff fish in their pockets when they walked away- wondering if they would eat dinner that night. They didn’t try to grab the hand of their sister or their father and drag them along the beach as they followed this compelling man; the Bible doesn’t even say that they asked where they were going….these men just dropped everything and put one foot in front of the other. How amazing!
what i love….

I love Refuge. More importantly I love what God is doing at Refuge. My favorite part of my week is to watch all the students engage with the Father in worship! (and I love to worship with them too!) It fuels my heart to keep working hard so that more and more people can come to know Him. Seeing changed lives and students immersing themselves into the plan and purpose of God…there’s nothing like it! It’s the greatest place to be! If you have never been to Refuge you should check it out! God is moving in this next generation!!

africa!!

HEY EVERYONE!!! We are in Johannesburg, South Africa tonight. The plane
ride was loooong, (about 16 hours) but I am so excited to be here! I just
want to say thank you so much to everyone who supported us financially,
and through prayer. It’s going to be such a great trip! Tomorrow morning
we will be at the airport in Johannesburg headed to Mozambique. We have to
be there at 4:30 am (africa time). We are about 7 hours ahead of baton
rouge, so while i am typing this at 8:00pm getting ready for bed, everyone
at highland is in the middle of Pastor Dino’s message!! I miss everyone,
and I will be updated more this week (hopefully!) Please continue to pray
for our team: for favor, protection, unity, and health!
Passport Panic!!

Last week I had a little scare! I realized that my passport was expired in 2006 and I was leaving for Africa in about 10 days! So, I made an appointment at the New Orleans Passport Agency and this morning after running around to get paper work, a printed ticket to Mozambique (Thanks Dan!) and some pictures (Thanks to my love, David) We headed to New Orleans. (I just want to say THANKS to my wonderful boyfriend who cancelled all of his plans today to spend the day with me in New Orleans in some plastic maroon chairs…..fun!) Anyways, our first stop when we got into the Crescent City was to pick up my little brother from the airport. (We killed two birds with one stone!) He was visiting my older brother and his wife in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, we headed to the Passport Office and waited in line to see someone- I brought them my paperwork and my new pictures and things….and we waited about 20 minutes to stand in another line to see someone else who asked us to come back in about 2 hours- so we went to the Hard Rock Cafe to get some lunch and went back to the office only to wait another 2 hours….and then I finally got my renewed passport!! YAY!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! It was a lot of waiting- but we left New Orleans at about 4:30 and made it home safely!! So, that’s my update on my passport! Africa here we come!!!
